Support the health of families working with agave
There’s a physical cost to making pre-industrial agave spirits. Using industrial methods to convert agave into spirits isn’t foolproof — it’s not without its own risks. But the people who are using traditional methods to make what they call mezcal, raicilla, sotol, vino mezcal, bino mexcal, pulque … they generally lack the resources needed to preserve their health when those very methods go sideways on them and change their lives in a moment, or when those methods over years result in something like spinal deterioration or cancer.
SACRED has been seeing lately a lot more public requests for consumer support for these circumstances and also receiving numerous private requests. If you want to help us support these private requests, make a $25 gift here and receive as a thank-you one of these beautiful ceramic Loteria tiles by artist Carmen Marín.
Each tile measures roughly 4.5” x 5” and is hand painted by the artist. Each has a metal loop at the top, so you can easily hang it in your home.
